Tait still has a place at the Table

Image
My heart has hurt this week for Tait, his band mates, his family…what a heavy burden to carry all these years alone and not know what to do or where to start turning to deal with his sin. My rock has dropped from my hand and fallen on the path of grace and mercy God set me on!  I’m not far behind Tait in my sin and shame. What courage he had to step out and confess and seek help. I’m not sitting here saying what he did isn’t a big deal, it is. What I’m saying is as someone who has battled from the pits of hell in my own life and lived to tell it, he has battled through and still is and living to tell it!  We Christian folks like to wound our broken.  The lyrics we of the 90s took to heart with DC Talk: “What if I stumble? What if I fall? What if I lose my step and make fools of us all? Will the love continue when my walk becomes my crawl?” Has the love continued? I don’t know, but I’m praying that someone will come along side Tait, love him unconditionally and help...

The Fruit of the Righteous is a tree of Life

“Those who are wise shall shine Like the brightness of the firmament, And those who turn many to righteousness Like the stars forever and ever.” -  Daniel‬ ‭12‬:‭3‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ I’ve been laying in my hammock on my porch this lovely Saturday morning, listening to the leaves rustle in the wind and give just enough umph to make my wind chimes ring a note or two. My porch feels like a paradise; an Eden tucked under the dogwood and crepe Myrtle and birds and …okay, even the dang bugs. As I swing in my hammock reading the wisdom of God in Proverbs juxtaposing righteousness and wickedness I’m drawn to the life it’s giving me.  As I watch the flowery white blooms fall like snow to the ground and on my car! I’m ...

Is Sin Calling? Decline Call!

Image
We all struggle with the wrong people and crowd calling our number, as Proverbs instructs it would be wise to decline before our lives go into a downfall!  Getting what we want leads to destruction in the end.  As I am in Proverbs currently with my Bible reading in the year, the verses below jumped out at me and I had to dig in deeper.  I admit I'm easily enticed in many different situations so I needed this!  I am delighted that God speaks and teaches me.  That he rebuked my enticement with the World and leads me to repentance.   Proverbs 1:10 My son (and daughter), if sinful men (or women) entice you, do not give in to them." FOR IT IS WRITTEN: Just as Joseph stood firm and did not give in to Potiphers wife but ran even leaving his coat in her hand having exclaimed, "How can I do such a wicked thing and sin against God!?" (Genesis 39) IT IS ALSO WRITTEN IN THE LAW GIVEN TO MOSES: If anyone entices you to worship other gods (idols), anything before an...
