New Life Event with Safer Communities- Midlands

We arrived in Columbia, SC about 3:00, and we checked into our hotel. My room consists of a king sized bed, and a flat screen TV! That is luxury! It is my prayer that this weekend will be a weekend of spiritual growth. Last night the service I was in is called Midlands which is a Juvenile Detention Center for boys ages 11-17. I had been to the Midlands before with Student Worship from FBCIT, and had experienced all that goes on there. However, tonight was different, in that in was more one on one with the boys, and more in the real side of things. I was not with a bunch of students trying to get them in order and participating, and all being a leader there involves, don't get me wrong though, I love all of those kids, and I am grateful for every opportunity I have to be a leader among them, and a friend. On this trip I am what they call a prayer warrior. I'm always praying, I pray over where we are going, I prayed over chairs last night that these boys would be sittin...

Living Life

I love Fridays for a couple of reasons. One, I don't have classes, Two, it's a perfect day to recharge myself and get things done. Today, however, I let it be a quiet thoughtful day. I heard a very inspiring lecture yesterday from the woman who write and travels. I took all her advise to heart and have been what I call, "REALLY living life" today. It is so easy to get caught up in our everyday routine schedules, and it's like we're not even living in the world observing and seeing what is there. One of the MANY things my English professor has taught me this semester is that it's important to sit outside in sunshine and breath. Apart of the regrouping, and focusing process requires us to get in the world and determine what is real and what is not...if that makes sense. Story of a Lifetime

One of my favorite subjects in school is English; especially since college it has grown on me A LOT! Writing is a passion of mine, obviously. So, I’m always brainstorming ideas, free writing, and all that stuff. Last night I was asked the question: “Has God planned the culmination of History?” My answer to that was yes. However, before I drew any conclusions I visited some places in the Bible and brainstormed what I thought the “culmination” or the climax of History has been in Biblical terms. So I have drawn a diagram in paint so I could share it with you on here. In fact many diagrams could be drawn. In this one I have outlined events leading up to the climax, and what ultimately will be the Resolution. We’re all living in one big story. I would kind of like to do a little series on what I’ve started here. This all evolved in my closet….I spend so much time in here thinking and brainstorming things.
