Story of a Lifetime

One of my favorite subjects in school is English; especially since college it has grown on me A LOT! Writing is a passion of mine, obviously. So, I’m always brainstorming ideas, free writing, and all that stuff. Last night I was asked the question: “Has God planned the culmination of History?” My answer to that was yes. However, before I drew any conclusions I visited some places in the Bible and brainstormed what I thought the “culmination” or the climax of History has been in Biblical terms. So I have drawn a diagram in paint so I could share it with you on here. In fact many diagrams could be drawn. In this one I have outlined events leading up to the climax, and what ultimately will be the Resolution. We’re all living in one big story. The Prayer of St. Patrick: Christ to Comfort and restore Me

“I, even I, am he who comforts you. Who are you that you fear mere mortals, human beings who are but grass, that you forget the LORD your Maker, who stretches out the heavens and who lays the foundations of the earth, that you live in constant terror every day because of the wrath of the oppressor, who is bent on destruction? For where is the wrath of the oppressor?" -Isaiah 51:12-13 If you remember back in January I highlighted some key points in the book "Radical" that we possess and are given the fruits of the spirit. Many times when we ask for things in our lives, God gives us His Spirit. I stressed that we should not miss that in life, because so many of us do! We go through a trial and we cry out for God to deliver us and when we are still in the midst of the trial we assume God has not answered our prayer, when really HE HAS! The Beloved Enemy

But the LORD said, "Go and DO what I say. For Saul is my chosen instrument to take my message to the Gentiles and to kings, as well as people of Israel. And I will show him how much he must suffer for me." -Acts 15-16 For the past 2 days I have been studying the conversion of Saul who would later become Paul. I imagine it was the Spirit's prompting in me to study this story a little closer, and learn and unlearn what I use to think this story to be. His conversion is amazing, and God reveals other things throughout the few verses of His redemption, and parallels; habits of man that have been going on from the very beginning of time, when He placed Adam and Eve in the Garden. There are unsung hero's to meet in these few verses. Paul's conversion is found first in Acts 9:3-18, other accounts can also be found later in 22:3-21, and 26:12-18.
