The Joy of Christmas Part 2: Worship
"Where is he who has been born king of the Jews? For we saw his star when it rose[a] and have come to worship him. When they saw the star, they rejoiced exceedingly with great joy." -Matthew 2:2,10 Worship originates within the Trinity. God is a worshiping community of one. The three persons of the Trinity continually exist with a ceaseless outpouring of love, communion, and joy. Being made in the image of God we too are ceaseless worshipers pouring ourselves out for something or someone. The question however is, who and how do we worship? When we worship God, we receive joy! As we look at the Christmas story you'll quickly notice how both are happening with all who are involved. Romans 11:36-12:1 lays out a perfect picture of what worship looks like: "For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be glory forever. Amen. I appeal to you therefore, brothers,[a] by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and accept...
