Christ is all my Life, Jesus is Everything

Just a little something I wrote tonight in deep thought 💭

When we read the Bible we leave pieces of ourselves in its pages, and The Word brands in our hearts and minds.

We will leave tears in Genesis as we grieve our fall from God. We will leave blood on our doorposts in obedience and trust and from our slavery into a relationship with God Himself. We will be counted as one of His. We will remember Him in all that we do and teach it to our children; His law and His ways and His love. We will fight life’s battles of sin, and wage war on all against the Lord. We will declare victory with God. Will come into His Temple and sing to Him songs of deliverance and praise for HIS name sake. We will sing how God has been a sword and shield. We will sing how God has made beautiful things in all the Earth. We will write songs and prayers of our joy in God. We will walk in the wisdom and understanding of God, and fear Him only. We will stand on the highest pinnacle of Solomon and declare only in God is life worth anything than the vapor we see below and before us.

Our ears will hear the words of the prophets: Isaiah exclaiming He saw the Lord, and I’m looking for Him too! Jeremiah weeping to repent of whoring around on my lover and Redeemer and to come back to a better plan. So I’m dropping my idols and fake lovers, and coming back. I’m hearing Ezekiel speak to what was dead to rise up and come back to life. I’m with Daniel in Babylon refusing to bow down to a king when he knows the King of kings. Resolved to stand firm in identity with God and experiencing God give him intelligence to make Himself known.

Then a baby cries! Christ the true and better Adam obeying God in all temptation. Christ the true and better Issac, sacrificial son. Christ the true and better Moses leading His people to a place prepared. Christ the true and better David, King forever that can’t be taken away, in a Temple and Kingdom that cannot be destroyed.

We leave our palm branches and coats for Jesus to tread.

We come to passion week and tears stain every page from the betrayal to the cross.

Our footsteps are at the empty tomb.

We are living ACTS … full of His Holy Spirit, and our feet have gone to the ends of the earth with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

We’ve tread the Roman Road

We’ve heard the sermons of Peter and Paul and John and James.

To the end of the Bible warning of what is to come and await those who do not believe. We are living the in the last days and await the Worthy One who sits on the throne, who conquered death, to raise the dead believers and take the living believers into His Kingdom forever. My name is written in Heaven and on my Saviors heart.

Christ applied to all my life.
