Something Happens

There is a simple, yet beautiful song my choir sings at our church. It's called "Something Happens." A beautiful woman of God, and singer does this song. When she sings it is so heartfelt, you can see it in her eyes, you can hear it in her voice, and her love for Jesus is written all over her face. I love to hear and watch her sing, and I know our Father loves to hear her too. This special song was written by Kurt Carr and the arrangement we do is by Bradley Knight. Here are the lyrics:

Jesus, something special, supernatural about Your name,
Jesus, something happens, when I mention Your name.

Demons have to flee when I say Jesus (Jesus)
Sickness has to heal when I say Jesus (Jesus)
Every knee shall bow before, and every tongue proclaim with worthy praise
That matchless name of Jesus.

Jesus, something special, supernatural about Your name,
Jesus, something happens, when I mention Your name.

When I call upon your name, the very atmosphere will have to change.
We'll be transformed, we'll never be the same, by the power of your holy name.

Jesus, something special, supernatural about Your name,
Jesus, something happens, when I mention.
(Repeats 3x)

Jesus, Jesus, Jesus,
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus,
Something happens when I call you.
(Repeats 6x)

Jesus, something special, supernatural about Your name,
Jesus, something happens, when I mention
Your name!

The one repetitive word in this whole song is "Jesus." That is what makes this simple song so powerful, the word Jesus, the name Jesus is a book. As the apostle John put it after his account of Jesus' life in his book, "If you were to write down all Jesus did, I suppose the whole world could not contain that would be written." John 21:25. The name Jesus says it all, and covers it all. And to think that He loves me, and calls me to do His work, and works through me. May my spirit always stay humble.
