Don't Miss Jesus

The prayer of my heart is that before I die I can know without a doubt that those I love and care about know Jesus. In order for them to know Jesus, I have to tell them about Him. Christians as a body of believers have to get their story straight and go out and tell the world about Jesus. Sadly, both non-believers and Christians alike miss Jesus when He shows up in our lives and in our churches. This shouldn't be. Our lives affect each other. I just finished reading this book called "Five People You Meet in Heaven." The basis of the book essentially was that we have unseen connections to people we have never even met before. Everything happens for a reason, and a purpose. God places people in our lives, some we know why instantly, some we might have to wait to Heaven to know why. But all of our lives are connected. The song, "While you Were Sleeping" by Casting Crowns, is a song I love. So much truth in this song. Can imagine being alive at the time

Let's Get this Party Started

8 years ago today I gained new life in Jesus. I have always remembered the day, and the hour because it was such a special time in my life, and still is. Many think I am weird for being so over the top at celebrating my spiritual birthday, but why should I not be? Why do you think Jesus wouldn't want me to? It is after all the day I became His, forever. The day He adopted me into His family. I think when I have children I will always try to celebrate and remember their spiritual birthday's. It's a big deal, and I would want my children to always remember and think about how good God is in their life. I may be only 8 years physically into being a Christian, but I believe in my heart that I am far wiser and maturer in my relationship with Jesus than those who have been Christians for 20 or more years. It's very sad that people who claim to be Christians will never really pursue a relationship with their Savior. It shouldn't be that way. So here is the story

In 1974, Neil Enloe penned the words to this song: In New York Harbor stands a lady, With a torch raised to the sky; And all who see her know she stands for Liberty for you and me. I'm so proud to be called an American, To be named with the brave and the free; I will honor our flag and our trust in God, And the Statue of Liberty. On lonely Golgotha stood a cross, With my Lord raised to the sky; And all who kneel there live forever As all the saved can testify. I'm so glad to be called a Christian, To be named with the ransomed and whole; As the statue liberates the citizen, So the cross liberates the soul. Oh the cross is my Statue of Liberty, It was there that my soul was set free; Unashamed I'll proclaim that a rugged cross Is my Statue of Liberty! This song parallels The Statue of Liberty to Jesus on the cross. Often when we see the "Lady Liberty" we think of freedom, liberty, hope, a new beginning for many. Isn't that what t

"And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people." Ephesians 6:18 As we established, we as Christians are engaged in a spiritual battle. We are a clean shot for Satan's attacks. Considering that, lets check out the remaining 3 pieces of armor God has given us to resist Satan and his attacks. Belt of Truth "To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” John 8:31-32 Satan fights with lies, and sometimes his lies can sound like truth. As believers we have God's truth, which can defeat Satan's lies. Breastplate of Righteousness "...and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ—the righteousness that comes from God on the basis of faith."

"But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ." 2 Corinthians 15:57 VICTORY: a success or triumph over an enemy in battle or war. an engagement ending in such triumph. the ultimate and decisive superiority in any battle or contest. a success or superior position achieved against any opponent, opposition, difficulty, etc. God's Armor For Us: We are engaged in a Spiritual battle, but God has given us some tools. We need to learn how to use them. Helmet of Salvation The LORD is my light and my salvation— whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life— of whom shall I be afraid? Psalm 27:1 Satan wants to make us doubt God, Jesus, and our Salvation. The helmet protects our mind from doubting God's saving power. Our minds are a battlefield. We have to protect our minds, keeping them full of God's truth about us. I would suggest reading a book by Joyce Meyer called, "Battlefield of the Mind" I've read it and lea
