The Sheep Song!

"Oh come, let us worship and bow down; Let us kneel before the LORD our Maker. For He is our God, And we are the people of His pasture, And the sheep of His hand." -Psalm 95:6-7 The past few Sunday nights at my church, First Baptist Church Indian Trail, Ron Lynch has been preaching on the 23rd Psalm. You know that Psalm we read at funerals all the time. There is so much more depth to this passage than I have ever seen in Studying it. I wasn't thinking about it simply enough. The 23rd Psalm is exactly how it reads, it is the relationship between and Shepherd and His sheep. We are the sheep!! I love being a Jesus sheep! If you research how shepherd took care of their sheep back in the Bible day you will see that's how Jesus is to us. He takes care of us, he guides us, he heals us. It's such a beautiful picture portrayed, and it touches my heart to know my Savior loves me that deeply. I tend to just base his love for me as He died for me. But His love

Destroy the Brain

Image
"1 Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. 2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will." -Romans 12:1-2 We are outnumbered... The virus has completely devastated over 150 of the world's major regions and is spreading rapidly. At this point in time we know of only one method of killing the creatures: destroy the brain. Be on the guard of any loved ones who may have recently been in any sort of contact of the infected. And if you find yourself out in a threatening position, please do not hesitate to act. Again, this is not a test. This is not a joke. We as a species are overwhelmed. We are outnumbered! Standing at accuracy's demise we have reached the new world wasteland. Population

The Radical Experiment

So yesterday I committed to do the Radical Experiment after reading the book "Radical." I believe whether you have read the book or not we can all do these 5 things that Dr. Platt has challenged his readers to do. Really, he has not asked us to do anything that God has not already told us to do. I look forward to living out these challenges and to see how God will further use me to impact the Kingdom, and how I will grow in my relationship with Jesus. Will you join me in doing these things too? I believe for Christians to impact the world, we have to first be where we are suppose to be with Jesus. We have to be fully committed to the Christian lifestyle, reading our Bibles, praying, being who God commanded us to be in the Bible. Daily filling ourselves up with His Spirit. So, here's what Dr. Platt has laid out. 1. Pray for the entire world. Intentionally, specifically, audaciously pray for God's purpose to be accomplished around the world. One of my favor

The No Fear Project

Each card with a scripture verse and prayer. I am currently selling them at $7.50 each. If you would like to order one please contact me: Allison Baker 704-488-5963 guitarplayer4jesus89@yahoo.com THE STORY: In November of 2010 God gave me this project. Inspired by a phrase I heard in a sermon that "Do Not Fear" is written in the Bible 365 times, on for every day got me thinking how can I convey people that we are not to fear? One of my gifts is encouragement. It says in Romans 12:8 "If your gift is encouragement, then do it!" So I set out on a mission to find where all Jesus says "Do Not Fear" and where God says "Do Not Fear." It was just as encouraging to me to do this project. It was at a time in my life when I needed those words spoken into my life. We all need these w

How He Loves

There is a deep story behind this song. John Mark McMillan, the writer of this song tells the story. One of his best friends named Steven was in a prayer meeting, and Steven prayed a prayer which was “Lord, if you would shake the youth of the nation, I would give my life for you today”. That very night on the way home he died in a car accident. And so John believed that the Lord accepted his offer- and that if God responded to the first part of the prayer by taking his friend, then the Lord will respond to the second part. But several years passed, and he spent that time wondering when the youth movement would happen, and he felt like everyone forgot about his friend. Several months ago he was playing at a conference and he was urged by another mutual friend to sing this song, which we wrote the day after Steven died. He believes that in some way this song is a fulfillment of that prophecy. That the impact of this song on the youth was the fullness of a life taken by a loving God

Indebted to the World

Image
Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them. -Hebrews 13:3 As Christians we are indebted to the world. Did you know that? God has a global purpose for us all. 14 "For I have a great sense of obligation to people in both the civilized world and the rest of the world,[a] to the educated and uneducated alike. 15 So I am eager to come to you in Rome, too, to preach the Good News." Romans 1:14-15 Because we belong to Christ and are owned by Christ, we owe Christ to the world. Every saved person this side of heaven owes the gospel to every lost person this side of hell. While I think it's so great to share the gospel in America, we should do that. Other countries are sending missionaries over here. I find that amazing. We are fortunate to live in a country where we can freely worship God and read our Bibles, and carry them around. We don't suffer near the persecution other countries do......yet at least. I have a feeling it's coming soon. But that&#

A Jesus Revelation

At 6:00 this AM, I had a Jesus revelation. Do you ever have those? I have them very often, just some like this mornings speaks volumes. I wanted to share because chances are it will bless you too. Most of my adult life which is the span of 3 years, (that's a long time when you consider all I've learned) I have always felt like I'm not good enough. I'll never be as good as this person, I have pretty much played the comparing game. I've been sure that if I really come to be like this person then God will really use me. Not the case. I'll admit I'm not the best singer, the best guitar player, the best writer, the best anything. But that's okay, because in the things I do, God get's glory, not Allison. God uses unlikely people to do his work, people you would have never thought could do something that they just did. I am more convinced everyday that it's not how good you are that makes God choose you, it's how humble you are before an

The Fruits of the Spirit

"But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!" -Galatians 5:22-23 This post can kind of play on our little series about prayer, but essentially this will fall into that category. In the context of Luke 11, Jesus is teaching about prayer. Many times when we ask for things in our lives, God will give us the Spirit. We sometimes miss that in our lives, we keep looking for the way we expect God to answer only to later give up and say He didn't answer. To which then I would say you really weren't that desperate for Him to show up in your life. God gives the Holy Spirit. When we are going through a tragic situation, it might be the loss of a loved one, finding out you have cancer...etc. when we cry out to our Father, He will give us the Spirit who is the Comforter. “If you love me, obey[a] my commandments. 16 And I will

Radical

Image
I started reading David Platt's book "Radical" over the weekend. I had read the first chapter free on line several months ago, then a friend on facebook mentioned the book and I went out and bought it. I believe every Christian should read this book just to get a new perspective on things. I found it ironic how in the same section of books you have this book "Radical: Taking the Christian life back from the American Dream", then you have Joel Osteens new book, "Achieving the American Dream." Personally I don't believe we as Christians are looking to achieve the "American dream." We have nothing to live for here in America, we're looking forward to Heaven. The Christian life isn't going to be easy, or suppose to be easy. I'm looking forward to going deeper into this book and learning more. I'm always striving to be more like Jesus and live a life that is so different from this world. Go out and get the book if you

Snow

Image
“Come now, let’s settle this,” says the Lord. “Though your sins are like scarlet, I will make them as white as snow. Though they are red like crimson, I will make them as white as wool." Isaiah 1:18 It's been so beautiful to watch snow fall today. It's another Jesus clue to us about himself, and what He can and wants to do in our lives. He says to us, let me wash you and make you white as snow. Snow from heaven that covers the ground and hides the filth, all you see is a clean white perfect blanket of love. I love how in Job, God challenges Job asking him, "Have you visited the treasuries of the snow? Have you seen where hail is made and stored? Who gives birth to the frost from the heavens? Snow is a gift. So many ways to look at snow. We can even get down to the detail of a snowflake. Every snow flake is different and unique in it's own special way. God made each snowflake. We are snowflakes if you think about it. I wish I could fall gracefully thr
