Random stuff

I like to be random in stuff, and funny. My mom loves me! She thinks I'm the coolest, and she's right I am the coolest, totally make your world rock!! It's funny my brother and I are night and day from each other. He likes classical music, he plays the violin, and he is more low key. He's big into politics, he's going to be president one day....vote for him. He's big into the computer stuff, techno geek, I've tried to talk him into being on the Geek Squad at Best Buy. He knows all about electronics, he's smart in about everything. Everyone loves Nathan, he's the center of attention of everything. Me on the other hand, I am totally wide open say what is on my mind. I love rock and roll, well you can tell from my music list what I like Music wise, I've always been in love with piano, I can take classical music on the piano alone. But I love my guitars and drums whatever makes a lot of noise. I'm not a big political person, it starts t

GO PANTHERS!!!

Image
The Panthers are playing today!! Whoo HOO!!!! Go Panthers!! We use to watch the Panthers all the time when we lived in Charlotte 10 years ago, then there for a while they forgot how to play...and we quit watching them. Last season they didn't do too well, if the Panthers fail me I'll go for the New England Patriots. Which is who I was pulling for in the Superbowl last season. I've got a friend at the game today, that must be really exciting. I've not been to many football games in my life. I did go one year to Chapel Hill and watch UNC and Duke play each other, that was fun, it was hot though. I don't like to be hot, I can stand it, I just don't like it. Sunday is my favorite day of the week, church happens number 1, and football in the football season, and basketball in the basketball season. This morning I woke up so confused, of course that's pretty normal for me, I slept in today and when I got up to take a shower I lost all sense of what time ch

Basketball

I have always loved basketball! It is my sport, I do really well at it, and I've always trained hard to keep my game up. I played on a team when we lived in Wake Forest, I was 9-10 years old. I don't play on a team now, it just keeps me in shape and keeps my knee going. I always dreamed of playing in the WNBA. When we go to cousin week in Pauline South Carolina, all the cousins, mainly myself and my cousin Ben love to play together.

God Paints the Sky

Image
Creation has always inspired me to write. When we lived in Burgaw we saw the most beautiful sunset's right in our backyard over an open field, it would take our breath away. I would think God painted that just for me, and for you too. He thinks of us and loves us that much to paint that beautiful sky pink's, and red's, and orange's, and yellow's. God's love and character is revealed in all of creation. The heavens reveal his glory, the sky reveals his craftsmanship. The things in this earth reveal the majesty of his name. Creation is full of variety, revealing the rich creativity, goodness, and wisdom of our loving God. Do you notice all the little gifts God gives us in creation? The sunrise, the sunset, the rain, flowers. All God's creation. Take a minute to look at it today.

Church Bulletin Announcements

Here are some actual bulletin announcements that were errors...I guess sometimes a few of these are true unfortunately just ask your pastor they can relate to a few of these: 1)Don't let worry kill you -- Let the church help. 2)Remember in prayer the many who are sick of our church and the community. 3)The ladies of the church have cast off clothing of every kind and they may be seen in the church basement Friday. 4)At the evening service tonight, the sermon topic will be "What Is Hell?" -- come early and listen to our choir practice. 5)Tuesday at 4:-00 p.m. there will be an ice cream social. All ladies giving milk will please come early. 6)For those of you who have children and don't know it, we have a nursery downstairs.

E-mails I don't understand

You know what kind of e-mails I hate to get? I'm not hot about Forwards but there are some good ones out there. But what I really can't stand is at the end when it tells me if I don't forward it to my friends I have denied God. I know I have not denied God for not sending that forward. Some really believe if they send that forward God is going to be pleased and he may be, but then our next e-mail is full of crude humor and half dressed people and we find it funny. Do you think he would laugh at that? Things like that are not acceptable to God. I have been guilty of reading and sending those crude e-mails. When I came off my mission trip to Detroit Michigan, I was in a such a holy state, and on such a high that I could not tolerate a lot of things. I got a little taste of how God feels about things going down here on earth. I couldn't watch TV, I couldn't watch movies, listen to secular radio stations. I don't want people to get the message that I'

My Dog Millie

Image
This is my dog Millie. She is the most sweetest dog and friend ever. We adopted Millie from the pound 7 years ago, she was very sick and I fell in love with her instantly. I loved her back to health and she has made me very happy. Millie is very smart. Her favorite thing to do is play football. My brother and I will get down in the hiking position and she'll bark 3 times then twice as if to say "hut, hut" then she catches the ball and goes for the touchdown! She is so funny. She has also learned what a McDonald's bag looks like and that there is possibly some food in there for her. She is spoiled rotten. She is as big as she will get, she is half beagle half lab, so she likes to sniff around and find things mostly food or an animal. Sometimes I'll hide her toys from her and I'll tell you to sniff it out, and sure enough a few minutes later here she comes with her toys. I couldn't ask for a better dog, she is a blessing.

I'm with the band

Image
Below you'll notice a slideshow of pictures. When I lived in Burgaw North Carolina, I played in a band that traveled North Carolina mostly. We were named Work In Progress, based on the verse found in the Bible Philippians 1:6, "And I am sure that God who began a good work within you will surely finish his work on the day when he returns to take us home." Our lives are constantly a work in progress, every day God keeps working in us making us more like him, and all he created us to be. We had a bass player John Wells, Nathan Baker and Dave Eakins on Drums, Brittney Hardison on the Keyboard, Candi Simmons on vocals, Amber Wells on vocals, Sarah Dail on Electric guitar, and I was Electric and acoustic guitar, as well as lead singer. We mostly played in our church Mt. Holly Baptist. Along with music we did drama, I loved the drama part, I tend to be a little wide open sometimes so getting to act with me already an act in it's self was fun. We had many opportunities t
