John and Cindy McCain Come to Town!!

Image
We had the great honor of seeing John and Cindy McCain in person today! How about that! They were at the Concord fairgrounds today. We had to get up early this morning and be out the door by 7:00. The doors opened at 8 and there was a large crowd there. It was pretty cool. We had to stand in line for about a hour and a half and then the officers had to process us make sure we were safe. When we got in the arena people were handing out the Country First signs. At first we were like 10 feet away from the stage, then a secret agent came and got us telling us he needed 30 people to come with him up front! Those secret agents were cute!! I wanted to take my picture with one of them but mom told me no. Oh well. When John and Cindy came out the crowd went wild! It was an encouraging experience. The media has tore up John McCain this election season, it was encouraging to see John up there speaking to us. Cindy is as beautiful as she is on TV, at one point our eyes met and I just beame

Singing in Wake Forest

I had the opportunity to go with my choir this past Tuesday October 14th to sing at the Real Evangelism Conference at the Southeastern Theological Seminary in Wake Forest North Carolina. My dad attended there from the years of 1998-2001. So it was kinda like a homecoming for me a little. I've moved around so much I'm not really from anywhere. We have a fantastic Choir Director, Phil Chaney, he is a blessing in each of the members lives. We sang a great line up of songs, had a wonderful performance, and a great audience. I loved it, had a wonderful time. We sang in Binkley Chapel, a place I always dreamed of singing in, like on stage and low and behold 7 years later I was up on stage performing!! We heard 2 wonderful speakers, I was just expecting one sermon, but I was okay with two, I don't know if I could have handled three though, that's a lot of information to process and take in. WOW!! Junior Hill and Jerry Vines spoke the evening we were there, they had s

This month I graduated October 10 2008 is the official date!! YAY, go me. In my high school years of homeschooling, difficult situations have come up and times when I just had to take a break and recollect myself. But I finished. I didn't give up. My family in Tennessee held a graduation party for me this past Saturday, October 11. My Aunt Anna works at a company that had a place where just employees can go with there families on Bays Mountain, so she reserved a shelter for us and we partied! We we're celebrating a few different things that day. My cousin Ben, we are tight by the way, but Ben is leaving for the Marine Corps this weekend, and we were giving him a going away party! I will miss him sooooooo much, he won't be able to come home for Thanksgiving that will be sad for our Family. We were also celebrating my mom's birthday which was October 11, I won't say how old she turned because for one I don't remember and two she might kill me. Another ye

Ain't it Nifty James is Fifty!

Well, Well, my dad turned 50 this month, October 2. Saturday the 4th we did a surprise party for him. It was so fun to plan and do for him. 50 is a big deal. I had a hard time keeping my mouth closed about the whole surprise I about blew it a few times. I need duct tape installed sometimes. So we held his party at my cousin Donnie and his family church in Marshville, NC just East of Indian Trail. We did have as many show up as we expected. Our good friends the Wallaces came and as long as they are around anything is a party. Also Donnie's wife Lana was there, and their 2 boys Cole and Dalton and Cole's girlfriend Cortney. So it was small but sweet, dad was surprised. His cake had all the things the golden years bring written on it, like AARP, Social Security, Hearing aids, it was funny. Lots of memories!!
