The Foundation and Promise of Ministry

Whatever ministry God has called you to 2 Timothy holds some valuable truths, and a promise to be a foundation for ministry. Press on in the work the Lord has given you. There are days that are full of frustrations at situations and people, take it to the Lord. Continue on in the way of the Lord, don't get sidetracked. I pray these few things that stood out to me in reading 2 Timothy concerning ministry will encourage your heart too.  Furthermore, I encourage you to look deeper into the key words that are listed, and what they mean, and what they mean to the unique ministry God has given you.
  • Use the Spiritual gifts you have been given, and guard them.
  • You have been chosen by God Himself.
  • Hold onto what is right and true, guard them.
  • Be bold, be strong.
  • There are boundaries, and rules to be followed in doing the Lord's work.
  • Suffering is to be expected.
  • Beware of false teachers.
  • Truth is the foundation.
  • Keep yourself pure.
  • Pursue faith, love, and peace.
  • God is the one who changes hearts.
  • Stay in the Word!  It equips you for what the Lord has in store for you.
  • Be persistent
  • Don't be afraid.
    • This is the promise:
    • You are never alone. The Lord will stand with you, and give you the strength, delivering you from every evil attack so that His Word may go forth.
God has a great plan for the ministries we both lead and are apart of. He desires we be a part of it in accomplishing His goals. We prepare ourselves to be part of God’s move when we consecrate ourselves; when we let the Holy Spirit shine a light on things that are not from God so He can replace it with His best for us. Ask God to do amazing things among you. God bless you as you seek, and serve Him.
