What is it about Water?

What is it about water?  The way the waves come and in and out and take us in with it...the ebbing and flowing.  The way it flows down rivers, marshes, and streams to find something bigger, and be apart of it.  What about its roar to its quiet laps that calms us?  Why do we love to be near it?  Laying next to her on a sandy beach?  On a pier on a lake?

Does is remind us of our cleansing?  We find hope in our washing away of yesterday to a clean slate.

Is it because it is refreshment, and a very life source to our bodies?

We find comfort and sleep in hearing rain patter, and the soft rumble of thunder.

Maybe it's the rhythm it all keeps, and it becomes something familiar.

The truth in all of it is that God the creator, is the one who gives and brings peace.  He reveals Himself to us through the ocean waves, and continuing rain of nourishment and refreshment.  He teaches us of boundaries of the shoreline, he won't put more on us than we can handle.  In the gift of seashells clanking to rest on the shore, my eyes look for His blessings and gifts like they do for seashells.  In the ebb and flow of tides of waves, He never stops, He is a continuous wave of power, and grace.  Where ever we are, we move to find Him and experience Him.  Show me who you are God.  We are moved to speak to Him.

I am reminded of a song written by Michael W Smith called let it rain, the 2021 remake of the song is so moving, and I pray that you will feel the Holy Spirit move upon you in that song and that it would become your prayer and you would receive it as a baptism of your soul, of rain falling on you to cleanse, refresh, and nourish.  I also encourage you to look up all the scripture that references water in the Bible, let it remind you every time you see water of His truth.
